As you guys know, I'm going to Ulsan University in South Korea this summer and I'm getting ever more nervous and excited as I realize how close it's getting. The only problem I had was the shock of the ticket price and worrying how I was actually going to pay, since turning this down was a big no, no after the struggle I went through to even get to apply for the program. So as soon as I found about the cost I went to work on raising money.

I want you all to take a moment and vote for me to be the next Young and Free Alabama Spokester.  For those of you that are unaware of what a Spokester is, I'll explain.

 The purpose of Young and Free Spokster is to be the voice of the 25-and-under Alabama crowd.  I will abecome more aware of what’s happening in the lives of people 18 to 25, and relate to them and capture the essence of what this group is about. Not only will I be an advocate for the 25-and-under Alabama crowd, but  I will also represent Guardian Credit Union. 
As a Spokester, I will travel to different events around Alabama and write a blog post about it. If I win, the company will provide a car, cell phone, lap top, and camera to assistance with the blog posts. I will upload different videos for each event that I'll attend.


Why should You Vote?

If you're familiar with the blog and some of the content I've written you may be aware that I enjoy adding a little spark to each post. I also like to keep viewers entertained with off the topic subjects. For those of you that are new to the blog, here's a little background about me.  I've been blogging for three years, and  I'm  nice, friendly, and I love to write. Although, when I was younger I had a hard time keeping my diary updated.  By joining the team I think  I can add a little fun to every blog post that I make, and I think that will be a great addition to there team.

Kim Kardashian doesn't get the nice media attention she deserves. I don't understand. She's one of my favorite celebrities. The fake hair, lashes, cake on make-up, and implants is what every woman should look like, and Kim Kardashian does a great job at it.  My speech professor would laugh at my voice, but I told her I was doing the vocal fry, the way Kim does.  Here are my reasons  why Kim Kardashian is the best role model.

Ideally, this summer should be filled with days on the beach, hanging out with your friends, and taking a break from all the school work before the next semester begins. But we all know that only happens in a perfect world. Instead, we're all working or interning while looking for ways to bring the tuition cost down next semester.

Luckily, there is a new scholarship open that can help you make this summer a little more stress free since that US students  can apply for right now! Yconic, a scholarship matching website, is opening up a new scholarship for American students so they can have a stress free summer and reached out to us to spread the word!

Don't you hate it when you see a friend who treats Facebook like a diary? Even more annoying when your  friend constantly posts selfies on Instagram. You may think this friend needs to press pause from the constant updates. There are some celebrities, like the annoying friend, who also needs a break from social media. I had a huge crush on James Franco last summer. I was obsessed with him. However, I have notice that my ex-husband  has been doing the MOST on Instagram. Posting almost naked pictures and flirting with a fan and asking to meet up with her. Sigh.  I have to break it to my baby. James if you're reading this, please baby, stop with the obsessive Instagram posting.

If you know anything about me, or have been following the blog for a while, then you know that studying abroad is one of the top things on my Bucket List. South Korea and Japan have been in my top five countries to visit for a while. This summer I get to knock out one of those countries on my list because I'm going to be studying abroad this summer! At least, I hope I will.

This semester I got the news that my school would be continuing their study abroad program for South Korea. I was really bummed that I missed out on this last year and decided that this was the perfect chance for me to go. It was a lot of work to get the chance to even apply (long story, another post) but after days of waiting, lots of emails, and waiting in the Passport office 3 days straight, and the interview, I got an email saying that I had gotten in! Of course I was like


And then my eyes saw the price and my reaction turned to this.


I know some of you are rolling your eyes, because of course traveling abroad is expensive, but this price was really unexpected. This is only the second year that my university will be doing study abroad to Korea, and the beta group only paid $500 with scholarships. This year's cost is triple that at $1500 (after scholarships).

I only  have enough to pay for what I thought would be the initial cost (last year's price) , and had planned to rack up hours at work to gain more spending money, but it looks like anything I earn that's not going towards bills will be to foot the ticket price. And I'm positive I won't be able to get all the cash I need by July with just my job, since minimum wage salaries don't really equal up to much and I still have bills to pay. That's why I decided to start a Go Fund Me page to help me raise some money. I have a lot of different perks on the page that could be really beneficial to people just wanting to donate, or want to promote their blogs or businesses. If you can, please share this campaign with a friend, family, or colleague who may be willing to help! Other than that, there will be lots of fundraising and bake sells on my part. I'm trying to get in contact with others going on the trip so we can do some things together since there is strength in numbers. I'll keep you all updated on how my fundraising goes, and hopefully you'll be getting a "How My Trip to South Korea Went" post before the summer ends.

If you haven't already figured it out by now, I am in love with Game of Thrones. The constant plot twists, surprises (I haven't read the books), and great story line keep me tuning in every Sunday night to HBO. Even with my excitement to find out what happens in the warring world of Westeros, I haven't been too distracted not to notice all of the good looking men that GoT has given us. So I'm just going to this post from Shannah this time and list a few of my favorite characters from the show. I dedicate this Hottie on the Look Out post to the men of Game of Thrones. Enjoy :)
