I was having a bad day, so going to the movies was a great way to end the night. A friend that I know from Korean class wanted to see Beautiful Creatures. To be quite honest, I did not want to see the movie. I'm not a huge fan of supernatural/fantasy movies, but decided to go anyway. The film is a love story between a boy and a witch, who has to choose between giving her powers to the dark or the light. Here are a few things that I liked and disliked about the movie:
So you've heard of Superman and Batman, but have you ever wondered about black superheroes? UCBComedy has and actually took the time to interview these unsung heroes on their take on fame and being a superhero of color.
See their interviews below.

I’m really curious to see what Usher will bring to the show. He's worked in different music genres in his life including Hip-Hop, R&B, and Pop so I'm sure his team will be just as diverse. See who Usher will choose on his team when the new season of The Voice airs March 24.
Watch the clip below to see Usher talk about his new role as a judge this season.

Nicole Beharie and Chadwick Boesman as Rachel and Jackie Robinson in 42 |
Just like most things in American in the early 1900s, the world of baseball was split by color lines. No matter how good a black player was he was not allowed to play for Major League Baseball teams. It wasn’t until 1946 that the color barrier in baseball was broken when Jackie Robinson joined the Brooklyn Dodgers. Now, Robinson is having his story told on the big screen in the upcoming 42. The film, starring Chadwick Boesman ("Lincoln Heights") as Jackie Robinson and Nicole Beharie ("American Violet") as Mrs.Robinson, will focus on Robinson’s career and struggle in the league.
Auburn has done it again. She released another catchy tune. "My Baby" may as well be "All About Him Part II" because it's such a cutesy song. In the video she has an Asian guy playing her boyfriend, of course! Auburn loves her Asians, who can blame her? If you like "All About Him", then try listening to "My Baby", and no, it sounds nothing like Justin Bieber's song "Baby".
Thanks to my busy schedule, my time in front of the TV has gone down drastically. Instead of watching TV I’m spending my time doing school work, blogging, or just working in general. Despite having so much on my plate, I have been able to find a little time to entertain myself. I’ve found some great TV series that I’m really enjoying and tune into every week.
Pretty Little Liars
If you don't already know, I've been obsessed with Pretty Little Liars since it's release back in 2010, and I tune every week to see what happens next. The show follows friends Spencer, Emily, Aria, and Hanna as they try to find out who murdered their best friend, Ali, and discover the true identity of their tormentor known only as A. This season has already given us lots of surprises and new clues to who's apart of the A Team.

At my old high school, everyone knew someone who wanted to be in musicals or loved Broadway. No doubt those same people are living their lives through the characters on Smash. The hit NBC series follows people from all sides of a Broadway production as they fulfill their dreams while balancing out their private lives. The show returns with season two tonight, and there will be added drama and story lines.

In a fictional survey conducted in February 2012, researchers found that 98% of people believed Monday was the worst day of the week. I can wholeheartedly say that I can't stand Monday mornings unless it falls within a three weekend holiday. I hate having to leave my warm, soft bed just to get ready for my class. So to make Monday a bit better, watch the latest video from Swoozie to chase the blues away. Happy Monday. Enjoy.

Instead of being a good student and working on my assignments, I spent hours on Youtube, Facebook, and searching random topics on Google. Don't judge me, but sometimes I like to read celebrities' Wikipedia pages. One topic that I searched was trimming split ends. Being an African-American girl who hasn't had a perm in I don't know how long, I wondered how to successfully cut my spit ends.
