At my old high school, everyone knew someone who wanted to be in musicals or loved Broadway. No doubt those same people are living their lives through the characters on Smash. The hit NBC series follows people from all sides of a Broadway production as they fulfill their dreams  while balancing out their private lives. The show returns with season two tonight, and there will be added drama and story lines.

The new season will feature a few familiar faces in and the addition of new cast members. Included in the new casting are stars are Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson, who plays Veronica Moore; the original Dream Girls cast member Sheryl Lee Ralph will play Cynthia, Veronica's mother, Law & Order's Jesse L. Martin, who plays artistic director Scott Nichols; and Leslie Odom, will play Tom's talented boyfriend. There's sure to be a lot of drama going on this season, which make this season one to watch. The two hour premiere airs tonight at 8/9c.
