This is Why You're Broke

Coming across money in college is hard, but sometimes keeping it is even harder. From parties to hanging out with friends, your funds can suddenly disappear in a matter of days. If you're constantly finding your bank account stuck on E, then it's time to figure out where it's all going.

Mr. Taxi
Hope they've got gas money ....
Playing chauffeur for your friend who doesn't have a car is a nice thing to do, but it can be pretty pricey. If you haven't noticed, gas is high, and driving your buddy back and forth to the grocery store, the mall, and to his girlfriend's house is taking a hit on your tank. Instead of giving free rides all the time, ask your friend to put a few dollars in the tank for the trouble. As a wise man once said, "If you ain't got five, then you can't get in".

Starbucks is like Crack

Once you get a taste of that cafe mochiato in the morning, your body starts fiending for that sweet, sugary caffeine. But with most drinks on the menu running at a little short of five bucks a pop, this sweet crave may be your banks worst enemy. Instead of buying your daily frappe, brew some homemade coffee at home or limit your self to visiting only once a week. This will save you about $35 a week.

Pigging Out
If you're eating out every week or you're on first name bases with the Pizza guy, it might be a sign you're wasting your money. Ordering takeout and going to restaurants takes a lot of money out of you. Go to the grocery store and stock up on food. It's easy to find a nice healthy dish to eat on a low budget.

Nails done, Hair Done, Everythang Did

Ladies, we all want to look good. That's a given for any of us, but these beauty fixes are leaving ugly marks on your wallet. Learn how to do your own manicure at home and save that $20 you'd pay at the nail shop. Next time you're at the hair salon, opt for a style that will last a while such as braids. This could save you about $120 a month.

Bills, Bills, Bills

Your phone bill is one of the biggest wallet gobblers out there. From using up all your minutes or going way above your data limits, there are many things that will add up on your phone bill. Luckily ,bringing the bill down is easy. Make sure you watch how much data you use and turn it off if when not in use. Check with your provider to see if you can downgrade to a cheaper plan. If all else fails, start shopping for pay as you go phones which will only costs around $50 a month.

Where's it going?
One of the sure fire ways to become broke is not keeping track of your spending habits. Be sure to keep track of all the money you spend so you can keep a tab on your cash. At the end of the month, look back and see where your money is going.
