My Pretty Little Problems

6:04 PM

I am pretty vocal about my love for Pretty Little Liars. Even though I admit it's one of my favorite shows, there are a lot things about the show that pisses me off or are just plain stupid. So in preparation for the season premiere, I listed a few of my pet peeves about the show below.

Dating Your Teacher is Cool
I don't care that Fitz has a baby face or the students think he's hot (erm, no) dating your English teacher in high school is not okay!No matter how much you try to romanticize their relationship, Fitz is an adult and Aria is a minor. He should be in jail for statutory rape, and if I were Mrs.Montgomery, I'd make sure it happened.

Wearing Sky High Heels to class is the Norm
I bet models don't even wear heels as often as these girls. Dressing up is cool in all, but going to school doesn't have to be a fashion show. Besides, how can you even handle seven periods on stilts?

Anything Aria wears
I get she's supposed to be the artsy/alternative member of the group, but a lot of Aria's style choices leave me seriously confused. I really wonder how she doesn't end up in detention with some of her get ups. Or how her parents let her leave the house.

Speaking of heels, if they wore more flats, they'd probably be able to catch up to A and Red Coat when they finally spot them. These are the slowest women in the world, and Emily being an athlete, should have more power in her leg.

No Police
Seriously, a lot of problems in this show could have been solved earlier if they had gone to the police. I would have told my parents ASAP when I got A's first text message outside of my best friend's funeral. Or when the first body was found.

Splitting up is stupid
I could make the obvious stereotypical joke about splitting up here, but I won't. Splitting up when a murderous stalker is following you is never a good idea. This also counts for those stupid moments when the girls are forced to do something by A are threatened not to tell their friends. By now the girls know that strength is in numbers, and they're most vulnerable when A pushes them apart.

Pepper Spray
I believe every girl should have a bottle of this on her key chain. And when you're being hunted like the ladies in PLL, it's a requirement. Especially since they have been cornered by the A team more than once. Like this time.

Dating you're would be murderer makes for a great relationship
Does anyone not remember that Emily was almost killed by her girlfriend  Moose Paige, but then went right back to her? Love doesn't hurt Emily.

Open blinds
If you know there is someone out there watching your every move, why make it easier by leaving your blinds open? We have seen too many episodes where A is eaves dropping on the girls and staring at them outside their houses. You'd think they'd be a little more careful when you're dealing with a socio path.

That wraps up my pet peeves so far, but I'm sure I'll want to add more after tonight's show.

What are your pet peeves with this show?

  1. Interesting comments. I've never really watched Pretty Little Liars myself, but these seem like a lot of plot holes. I couldn't imagine wearing heels to class all the time. I wear heels to class maybe once or twice a semester at most!

    1. I'm in the same boat. Walking around campus all day in stilettos? Ain't nobody got time for that!

  3. I agree with so many of these things! I used to watch PLL all the time, but I haven't been able to catch this season. I'll probably wait until it comes out on Netflix. But all of those things are so true. I would have definitely told the police about the texts, and Emily is probably (actually definitely) my least favorite of the four of them because she just makes a lot of dumb decisions, including dating Paige. I mean, hello! She tried to kill you! Whatttt? That show is just full of nonsense, but I still love it.

    1. I actually Emily, but she does make some bad decisions in the dating department. I would have never given the Paige after that little move.

  4. Bahaha, I totally agree with all of this, not much in the show is based in reality, and that aside, the writing drives me crazy sometimes because they open up SO many story lines, and then don't finish them! I do love the show, but lately its been getting out of control. I used to LOVE the fashion on there, but lately its definitely been a miss (Especially for high schoolers..not one has hair/makeup/style like that in high school!)

    1. They do open up so many roads with characters that never seem to be resolved. The writers are just trying to extend it so the show can carry on. And on. But the clothes are cute, but most of the time I could't see myself or anyone I know actually wearing some of those outfits. Thanks for stopping by!
